“Faust” – play based on the tragedy by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (in German)

The polymath Faust is experiencing a profound crisis of meaning. Torn between his thirst for knowledge and his zest for life, he desperately searches and tries, hopes, and ultimately becomes susceptible to seductive forces. These, of course, are not long in coming: intoxication, the eternal feminine, and magic all clamour to capture a wandering soul. How steadfastly can one strive? What is delusion and what is vision? And who in the devil's name is this Doctor Faust?

Marleen Müller, Brian Völkner and Tobias Schaaf from TheaterPACK take on the challenge of playfully realising this gigantic work.

Directed by Frank Schletter

Concert: Midgards Boten – ein Mythos im Klang
"Snow White and Roseroth" - A fairy tale of loving daughters, rosebushes, wicked dwarves, and a prince in a bear.

In the fairy tale of Snow White and Roseroth, we encounter many of the old fairy tale clichés: the unity of nature and humanity, innocence and longing, preservation and devotion, grace and dignity, and an evil, greedy, elderly, ungrateful, but no longer to be taken seriously, dwarf who must be kept alive long enough to allow the metamorphosis from a wild bear into a handsome prince to succeed. A fairy tale of holding on and letting go, the rise of the despised, the survival of the threatened, of deep human experiences and longings, and the secret of how children can grow up and yet remain childlike.

"Die Schatzinsel" – a play (in German) based on the adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, running time approx. 2 hours, exclusive preview of the new production by TheaterPACK

An old sea chest, washed up in front of the harbor pub "Zum Fernrohr", awakens memories – fishermen's wives and harbour prostitutes vividly tell of what it was like back then when the proud Hispaniola pulled up the anchor: on board Captain Smollett, cabin boy Jim Hawkins, the doctor and the admiral, the one-legged ship's cook John Silver with his ancient parrot and the whole daring bunch of sailors, with whom you never knew who could really be trusted ...
For over 140 years, Stevenson's novel of Treasure Island has fascinated young and old. Because we can't get enough of these adventures either, we'll be going on board again for the WGT, flashing our cutlasses, singing from rum-stained Sing the sailors' songs and try to hide our shaky knees as the ghost of the dead pirate Flint fools the treasure hunters.

Starring:
Simone Cohn-Vossen, Linda Gwendolyna Lütkemüller, Marleen Müller, Katja A. Pohl, Mario Rothe-Frese, Frank Schletter and others

„Menschliches, Allzumenschliches - Von den Abgründen des menschlichen Seins“
Songs and Texts with Claudia Gräf, Axel Thielmann and Tilo Augsten

Friedrich Nietzsche—from whom the title of the program comes—wasn't the only one to explore the first and the last things, delving into the history of moral sentiments, reading the souls of artists, and identifying the signs of higher and lower culture.
Claudia Gräf, Axel Thielmann, and Tilo Augsten also do this in their customary bawdy, intellectual, literary, and musical style, raising questions that a moderately narcissistic person would never consider. At the end, as every year, the "Little Trumpeter" plays, and all is well again. After all, people need some kind of swaying element in the world, and good entertainment every now and then.
